The ESB has confirmed that an outage in the Drumlish area yesterday was caused by third-party machinery damaging an overhead line. It says crews were mobilised quickly and repairs were conducted throughout the day.
In a statement to Shannonside News, ESB Networks says no injuries were reported following the incident. It added, however, that this was a reminder to all those working near electricity lines to exercise extreme caution while operating machinery. Workers are reminded to maintain the minimum safe distance of three metres from an overhead line. The company apologised for any inconvenience caused by the outage.
