A popular local Priest in Roscommon has been remembered as a devoted son and brother as well as being a respected member of the clergy. The Funeral mass of Fr Donal Morris has taken place this afternoon after he passed away, aged in his early 50s. He was the parish priest of Kilbegnet and Glinsk, and was the youngest Irish-born priest in the Diocese of Elphin.

In a Concelebrated mass this afternoon, Fr Donal's fellow priests along with Bishop Kevin Doran described their friend as some one who possessed a vibrant and wicked sense of humour. The Roscommon Priest had battled illness in recent times, and passed away last Thursday. He was said to be a straight talking, honest man with a deep sense of justice. The importance of Fr Donal's relationship with his family was also highlighted in this afternoon's mass:
