Longford Councillors have voted to lock local property tax rates in the county for the next two years.
The decision to keep the payment at the same rate was made at a September meeting of Longford County Council on Wednesday evening.
94 per cent of local house owners will pay less than five euro a week with 74 percent paying less than two euro each week.
13,000 of Longford's households pay a rate €103.50 per annum.
Funds gained from the local property tax allow the local authority to match funding for significant infrastructure grants.
Longford councillors voted unanimously for the payment to remain the same as the previous year and it will now be up to elected representatives in 2025 to vote again.
