The amount of money Roscommon homeowners pay for property tax will remain unchanged next year. Local councillors can increase or reduce it, by up to 15 per cent, from the basic rate set nationally. Roscommon County Council is inviting submissions from the public, ahead of a decision being made in October. Councillor Crosby, from Tarmonbarry, is a member of the coalition that controls the council and is defending the decision not to cut property tax in 2025.
