Protesters are to gather at Sligo Courthouse this weekend to highlight concerns over the delays facing the case of a man accused of the murder of two local men in April.
Aidan Moffat from Roscommon and Michael Snee from Galway were found dead in seperate locations in Sligo earlier this year.
Yousef Palani of 10 Markievicz Heights in Sligo was arrested and remanded in custody following an appearence at Sligo District Court on April the 14th.
A recent court sitting heard that the case has required extra time by Gardaí, due to the nature and complexity of the investigation.
The judge ruled that if no directions are given from the DPP by next week, the case could be struck out.
Sligo Pride have criticised the lack of information from the DPP and highlighted worries among the local LGBTQI+ community over the future of the investigation.
They've called on the public to attend Sligo Court House on Sunday the 11th of September at 2pm to stand in solidarity with the group.
The accused, Yousef Palani, is due to appear next week via video link at Sligo District Court on September 15th.
