The three Roses with local links are considered rank outsiders by the bookies as the Rose of Tralee kicks off tonight. Leitrim Rose Shauna Murtagh is the first Shannonside representative on stage later this evening as part of the 64th festival. The Carrick-on-Shannon woman is a 66/1 shot to take the crown at this year's event. Meanwhile, Roscommon Rose Rachel Hastings and London Rose and Tulsk native Glenna Mannion are on stage tomorrow evening.
While it's still very early days in the betting, Rachel has been given odds of 25/1 by bookies while Glenna's drifted out to 50/1. Derry Rose Darcy Taylor at 5/2 is considered the favourite while Kerry Rose Emer Dineen is close behind at 4/1. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Bronwyn O'Neill from VIP Magazine the odds will change over the two nights:
