Local Roses parade around Tralee as annual festival officially begins

Among the international Roses competing this year are Megan Cahill from Chicago and Ciara O'Sullivan from Dubai.

This year's local roses have donned their sashes and shown their colours at the annual Rose of Tralee Festival.
The 64th festival officially opened in Co. Kerry, where the spotlight was on the ladies of 2024 as they paraded around the streets of Tralee.

Competing for Leitrim is Carrick-on-Shannon native and sport enthusiast, 23-year-old Shauna Murtagh, while 27-year old Rachel Hastings, who is a lecturer at ATU St Angelas, will wear the sash for Roscommon this year.
Among the international Roses competing this year are Megan Cahill from Chicago and Ciara O'Sullivan from Dubai.
Dáithí Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas will interview the final 32 Roses live from the festival dome in Tralee at 8 pm on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th August.
