Two schools in the Shannonside region have received funding from the Teaching Council under a new scheme. The Féilte Bursary Scheme is designed to support collaboration between schools and enhance teachers' professional learning. St Attractas NS in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and Scoil Mhuire Naofa in Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim have both received €2,000 each.
Both schools have been awarded the funding to help aid Mathematics teaching. Director of the Teaching Council, Dr Lynn Ramsey, congratulated the schools saying teachers at these schools, have shown significant creativity, innovation and commitment to professional learning through the scheme.
