Longford based Senator Micheal Carrigy has been appointed Secretary of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party. The local Postmaster has taken over the role from Deputy Alan Dillon, who himself has been appointed chair of the party.
Parliamentary Parties are formed from the sitting TDs, Senators and MEPs of a political party and form policy and organisational structural goals for the body. Senator Carrigy says he feels the position reflects the faith put in him by party colleagues.
