A Shannonside-based senator believes there needs to be much more engagement from the DAA with the public around the situation at Dublin Airport.
Senior management faced a grilling from TDs and senators at an Oireachtas Committee meeting on Wednesday afternoon after 1,000 people missed flights due to lengthy queues at the largest airport in the state on Sunday last.
Management has confirmed that 40 additional security staff will be available this weekend - 30 of which are trainees but warned some passengers may still miss flights.
Senator Aisling Dolan believes that a significant publicity campaign needs to be developed to inform people of the situation at the airport before they arrive :
