A local senator believes public engagement is crucial going forward following the latest developments regarding Roscommon post office. It was announced last Friday that An Post will seek to appoint a Postmaster to take over the running of Roscommon post office in the current premises at The Square.
Fianna Fáil senator Eugene Murphy says he's already in contact with Minister Jack Chambers and An Post about future plans for the building. Senator Murphy also said that he's very hopeful a postmaster will come forward to ensure that the service remains in it's current location.
