A Roscommon Senator fears a life will be lost if safety concerns aren't addressed along the N5 near Strokestown.
Eugene Murphy is calling on Transport Infrastructure Ireland to act swiftly following a number of recent collisions at the 'Turn of Farn'.
While warning lights on the approach from Dublin were erected some years ago the Fianna Fail representative would now like to see speed warning signs installed on the Strokestown side.
It's understood a number of local residents feel issues around the camber on the road must be resolved. Senator Murphy says urgent action is needed to improve safety.
''I'm pleading through the local media for to try to deal with this once and for all, before we have a casualty there because virtually every week now I have somebody on the phone to me, sometimes twice a week. I would appeal once again that now before Christmas that the TII would at least put another set of lights on the Strokestown side.''
