A Longford senator has renewed his call for the provision of a family resource centre in the Town.
FRC's provide a range of services and development opportunities to address the needs of families in the area.
Michael Carrigy made the plea during a discussion in the Seanad this week where he stated Tusla, the child and family agency were aware of the need of a centre in Longford.
He called on the state agency and Government to provide funding.
Tulsa has identified my hometown Longford as a priority. It's a town of 10,000 population, multicultural, yet there's no sign of even open applications open up for us even to put forward, where there is a need there was a responsibility on government and Tusla to make sure the funding is put in place, and we put them resources and put them centers in this we cant just close it up for five years and not given that opportunity again.
