Over €1.7m in Clár funding has been awarded to sports and community facilities locally. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys announced this morning over €11m for 264 projects nationally. €700,000 was awarded to projects in Roscommon, over €600,000 was allocated to projects in Co. Leitrim whilst projects in Longford have received over €450,000. The investment will support the development of sports and outdoor facilities such as playgrounds, astro-turf pitches, running tracks and spectator stands. Longford based Fine Gael Senator Micheal Carrigy welcomed today's funding announcement:
