The delay in progressing the construction a of new building for a popular Ballinasloe school is unacceptable according to a local Senator. Last year Scoil an Chroi Naofa was granted planning permission for a major new school upgrade. The school received the go ahead to construct a larger school building with three additional classrooms in September of 2023. It was meant to bring the number of classrooms to 16, with school management stating the development would help them to meet the increasing demand for student places.
However, local Senator Aisling Dolan is criticising the delay in the next steps being taken in the process. Yesterday she brought those concerns to Minister Malcom Noonan in the Seanad:
