A local Sinn Féin TD says she would be interested in becoming a Minister if the party was in Government following the next general election. Roscommon-Galway TD Claire Kerrane was speaking after the Sinn Féin selection convention in Hannon's Hotel last night.
The party are running a one-candidate strategy in the constituency after Kerrane was selected unopposed. Speaking to Shannonside FM, Deputy Kerrane said whilst it would be an honour to become a Minister, her main focus is retaining her seat in the Dáil:
