A local TD believes it is critical that performance reviews of workers form part of public sector pay talks.
Speaking in the Dail, Longford-Westmeath TD, Robert Troy called on the Minister for Expenditure Paschal Donohoe to outline a timeframe for the national public sector pay negotiations.
Minister Donohoe told Deputy Troy he hopes to be able to engage with the public sector bodies in the coming weeks.
Robert Troy said that there needs to be a mechanism where people who are not performing adequately are encouraged and supported to ensure the public sector are getting an adequate public service.
