Local TD says climate targets will result in only wind turbines left in the West

Ireland's new climate targets could see 90 percent of reclaimed bog put back under water.... 86,000 acres of forestry planted every year.... and the country's livestock numbers reduced by 30 percent.

New figures from the Environmental Protection Agency - reported in today's Irish Mail - show the scale of the challenge facing the country's farming community.

Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice for Roscommon/Galway says the proposals would leave the West of Ireland with 'nothing but wind turbines and theme parks'.
