The newly-formed Independent Ireland party will not be supporting the appointment of new Taoiseach Simon Harris. The new Fine Gael leader is expected to be elected to lead the country in the Dáil next Tuesday. However, local TD Michael Fitzmaurice says his party won't be backing the former Minister for Health.
Deputy Fitzmaurice says current Government policies have been detrimental to those living in rural Ireland. Speaking on Let's Talk today, he said Simon Harris would be elected but without Independent Ireland's support.
