A Roscommon TD has met with Minister O'Gorman seeking additional resources prior to the arrival of international protection applicants to Ballaghadereen.
Earlier this week it was announced 18 families are to be housed in an estate in the town under a Temporary Emergency Accommodation Scheme.
Claire Kerrane says Ballaghaderreen has welcomed Refugees as far back as 2017 and that generosity was not matched by Government action despite commitments made.
During a meeting with the Integration and Equality Minister the Sinn Fein representative outlined a number requests for additional resources needed for the town.
They include a healthcare professional on site in the EROC centre, additional funding for the Family Resource Centre, consultation with local schools, return of the Community Welfare Officer to the Health Centre and the possibility of funding (with consultation) for sports and community groups.
