A local Sinn Féin TD has backed the decision to run two candidates in the next general election in Longford-Westmeath. Barry Campion was selected to run alongside Deputy Sorca Clarke in the upcoming election for Sinn Féin.
Campion ran for the party in the local elections earlier this year receiving 253 first preference votes. Deputy Clarke welcomed the addition of a new Sinn Féin candidate in Longford-Westmeath:
