Local TD urges Pro Life campaigners to rethink language used in advertisements

It comes after the Roscommon For Life group was criticised for an inflammatory ad it placed in the Roscommon People newspaper.

A local TD has called on Pro Life campaigners to be mindful of the language used in advertisements. It comes after the Roscommon For Life group was criticised for an inflammatory ad it placed in the Roscommon People newspaper. The July 26th ad compares fines imposed on those who destroy eggs in nature with fees received by doctors for abortion services.

A statement by Roscommon People editor Paul Healy said an editorial review was underway 'on foot of the feedback received'. Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane, who campaigned with Roscommon Together For Yes, said abortion wouldn't be an option she would take. Speaking to Shannonside News, however, she said women should be free to make the choice themselves:
