A local Fianna Fáil TD has called for debt warehousing measures introduced for businesses during Covid to be extended due to current economic difficulties. Longford/Westmeath TD Robert Troy made the call in the Dáil yesterday, urging Minister of Finance Michael McGrath to ensure a flexible process for businesses to repay their debt.
According to Deputy Troy, businesses that availed of debt warehousing are now receiving letters from Revenue demanding repayment. He's asked Minister McGrath to confirm that low interest rates and payment extensions will be made available to the businesses taking part in the scheme:
