Local tourism industry may be impacted by Aer Lingus industrial action

Mr Kelly's comments come ahead of a meeting between pilots union IALPA and Aer Lingus tomorrow to try and resolve the dispute over pay.

The local tourism industry may be impacted by ongoing industrial action by Aer Lingus pilots, according to a local hotelier. Ciaran Kelly, General Manager at The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, says some guests have voiced concerns already.

He said any strike action would inevitably affect travellers due to the number of flight cancellations. Mr Kelly's comments come ahead of a meeting between pilots union IALPA and Aer Lingus tomorrow to try and resolve the dispute over pay.

There are no major delays to report at Dublin Airport this afternoon as a result of the indefinite action. Speaking to Shannonside News earlier today, Ciaran Kelly said guests had expressed concerns regarding return flights:
