Tourism providers from across the region say meetings with international tour operators at Ireland's biggest trade event have been hugely beneficial.
Meitheal which is taking place in Killarney this week and is organised by Failte Ireland allows tourism businesses to pitch to over 230 buyers from 17 countries.
Hidden Heartlands destinations such as Strokestown Park House, The King House Boyle, Lough Key Forest Park, Arigna Mining Experience, Granard's Knights and Conquest and Cloughan Farm & Cookery School are all attending the event which comes to a close today.
Tour buyers and operators from around the country visited Roscommon prior to the Meitheal event and Tony Aspel - Marketing and Sales manager at Strokestown Park House says the opportunities it's presenting is invaluable.
'Just to put it into perspective over three days we have the opportunity to meet 36 international buyers. And if we achieved that by ourselves it would probably take months so to be here is valuable for 2024 and onwards.
It's great to connect to those buyers and to get them to come back to Strokestown Park House and to come back to the hidden heartlands.'
