It's the end of an era for Ulster Bank and its customers in the Shannonside region.
Shutters will come down on four local buildings at half four this afternoon.
The Longford, Roscommon, Athlone and Mullingar branches are among 63 locations nationwide to finish operating today.
Onsite ATMs will also cease to work today, however the few remaining customers who have yet to close their accounts will have access to telephone and online supports to help them do so.
Planning permission has already been lodged for the removal of the ATM and internal alterations at the Longford branch.
Business Editor Joe Lynam says many of the branches closing today will be offered for sale:
They own 31 of those buildings and they will have soared in value since they were first bought by the bank many decades ago.
They have long leases on a few as well, which will also have a huge commercial value.
When you think of the Ulster bank property on College Green in Dublin, you can imagine how much money that is going to be when sold.
