A local tidy towns volunteer has called for no election posters to be erected in towns across the region going forward.
Jonathon Cassidy is a member of Strokestown Tidy Towns in Co. Roscommon and he believes the number of posters will increase as the General Election campaign approaches it's conclusion.
In accordance with the Litter Pollution Act 1997, election posters and ties must be removed within 7 days after polling date.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Jonathon says the posters detract from the work they carry out.
