Women from across the Shannonside Northern Sound region who may be interested in finding out more about politics in their local area are being invited to a series of online workshops.
Only 24% of county councillors throughout Ireland are female with a much lower percentage of female councillors in rural counties compared to more urban centres such as Dublin or Cork. The "SHE - See Her Elected" project, which is part of services of Longford Women's Link hopes to increase women's participation in local government or civic engagement.
