A work stoppage is continuing around the country today by members of the Unite Trade Union.

Construction workers say it’s demoralising not receiving travel time allowances from hugely profitable companies.
A work stoppage is continuing around the country today by members of the Unite Trade Union.

The union is calling for travel time allowances which were taken away during the recession to be reinstated.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Rob Kelly from Unite says commuters from counties like Roscommon and Longford are not entitled to travel-time payment, unless they negotiate it with their employer.
He described the industrial action taking place today:
