The former Green Party general election candidate for Sligo Leitrim says people who want to complain about the demise of rural Ireland should be looking at Fianna Fail and Fine Gael instead of her party.
Blaithin Gallagher who's also the National Coordinator for the Green Party has been replying to criticism levelled at the party by members of Fianna Fail in Leitrim among others.
The Leitrim Fianna Fail members wrote to Micheal Martin last week expressing their concerns about the party entering government with Fine Gael and the Greens and said they had concerns about what Green Party policy might mean for rural Ireland.
Blaithin Gallagher says the comments are wholly unfounded and in fact if people want to criticise the lack of investment and prosperity in rural Ireland they would be better off looking at the two main parties who have governed the country for the past 100 years.
