Masses in parishes in and around Athlone are set to begin again from tomorrow.
Priests and parishioners in St Mary's parish, as well as Saints Peter's and Paul's have been preparing for the resumption of masses over the past week.
A statement from St Mary's Parish said a number of safety measures will be in place for people when the masses take place, such as a one-way system into and out of St Mary's and Our Lady Queen of Peace churches, and reduced seating capacity.

Some seats will be cordoned off in the churches and others will be allocated for families or households.
A team of ushers will show people where they can sit and hand-sanitizers will be available in the porches of the churches.
