Locals in Annaduff are calling on the consultants behind the plans for the Carrick-Dromod road project to meet with people face-to-face.
The clarity of maps and the difficulty of people accessing an online public consultation were among the issues raised by over 150 people who attended a meeting last night in the parish along the N4.
People are able to book appointments with the design team but concerns have been expressed that an additional two-week online consultation is not adequate enough for the major road project which caused concern in several communities.
Councillor Des Guickian says a more concentrated campaign needs to be organised:
It's understood that a new umbrella organisation, opposed to the plan, has been established to raise concerns over excess development in the region and its impact on natural resources.
The group, called Save Upper Shannon, follows on from a suggestion made by Councillor Enda Stenson at last night's meeting.
