The new Local Link bus expansion for Leitrim must not lose its flexibility and focus on public service.
That's according to a local service user with mobility issues who claims the rigidity of the new system in Leitrim will leave people prisoners in their own homes.
A new expansion to the service has seen the existing 2 routes replaced by 6 new routes on a fixed path between towns and villages to a scheduled timetable.
Concerns have been raised locally that no local companies have been selected to run the service.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show today, service user Paul, says the previous service saw drivers use their discretion to leave the fixed-route when needed to help collect or drop off vulnerable passengers.
