One of the people behind the re-opening of The Covert in Ballinafid between Longford and Mullingar says they've had huge goodwill locally in making it happen.
Derek Leonard who's originally from Moyvalley, says they had major help from local tradespeople and neighbours in re-opening some of the bar last weekend.
The landmark pub closed in 2015 and was bought by Elphin native Catherine Beirne the following year.
The first stage of a three-year plan for the business was to open the larger of two bars, and it's hoped that food can be added shortly.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show today, Derek Leonard says they're also getting a great response to the re-opening of accommodation at the premises:
"Accommodation at the moment is very busy, we are booked out until the end of July at the minute thank God. Accommodation is gone expensive across the country and we want to show we can do a rom for a fair rate and have a nice bar and in time do food as well.
It is going to be hard to get staff and in time get the right staff with experience as well. It's a fantastic location, you're on the N4."
