Locals in Longford town are raising serious concerns over the future of the local rail and bus station.
The Longford Train Station is a hub stop on the main Dublin to Sligo Train and bus line.
Councillor Peggy Nolan says locals are up in arms of the prospect of Iarnrod Eireann closing off access to the main station building to the public ofr a number of days each week.
Councillor Nolan says this would leave passengers and drivers without toilet facilities and shelter when stopping or waiting at the station.
The station has been closed to the public in the short term in the past due to staff shortages.
Iarnrod Eireann has been contacted for a statement over the status of Longford Train Station.
Councillor Nolan says the state transport company are pushing people away from public transport:
