Locals in the Elphin area are being urged to support their remaining bus services following the cancellation of a regional Bus Eireann Route.
The 468 service from Carrick on Shannon to Strokestown has been cancelled until further notice due to resource issues according to the transport body.
Locals had highlighted the cancellation of the service recently, with concerns raised of the effect it will have on those traveling to the towns from rural areas.
Bus Eireann says that the cancellation is temporary and it is hoped the route will re-open in the near future.
Local Resident Rory Kiernan is urging people across the region to support the remaining Local Link service, that he says is keeping the town connected.
The Elphin resident believes if a need for public transport can be shown by the public in the area, it's more likely existing bus routes can be saved.
