Long traffic delays on N4 near Edgeworthstown

There are long traffic tailbacks reported on the N4 between Edgeworthstown and Ballinalack this evening due to a road traffic collision.

The accident is understood to have happened in the last couple of hours and it is said to involve two vehicles.

Emergency services are attending the scene and there are no details available of any injuries.

The road is understood to be open but there are considerable delays  especially  for traffic coming from the Mullingar direction.
