The centre on the Battery Road in Longford Town provides a community-based service for people with intellectual difficulties.

Longford county planners have received the application and are due to make a decision in the coming months.

The arrests came as part of the Garda investigation into organised criminal activity and burglaries in Mayo, Roscommon, Longford, Westmeath and Sligo.

County planners will decide on the application later this year.

They'll include at least 25 affordable houses, and the rest will be council homes.

The incident occurred at a farm yard in Clonterm, Longford, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
