A major local employer has received planning permission for a significant expansion of their Longford operations. US company Technimark had lodged an application for the expansion of the facility on the Ballinalee Road. The company are seeking planning for an additional 20,000 sq ft manufacturing space and additional warehouse space. The proposal would also see the development of a new two-storey quality lab, exit ramp for trucks leaving the site onto a local road connecting to the N63 and the demolition of an existing storage shed.
Technimark produces high-value injection-molded packaging and components and added 80 new jobs at the Longford site two years ago. It's hoped this further expansion of facilities will also lead to more employment opportunities onsite. The permission was granted this week with 15 conditions attached.
