A long-serving and popular Longford business severely damaged by Storm Éowyn, has re-opened their doors today. Laura Shaw's Gardening Centre outside Longford Town saw high winds cause significant damage to infrastructure on site. The garden centre's polytunnels, glass house and retail display tunnel were badly damaged and destroyed in some cases during the red weather alert. Owner Laura Shaw says that due to the fact that the structures are temporary, it's not possible for them to be insured. The tea rooms at the garden centre re-opened this morning with Laura hopeful that they can now begin to recover:
The business, which has been operating on the Drumlish Road outside of Longford Town for over 38 years, is inviting those without power and water to use their facilities.
