A Longford Cystic Fibrosis campaigner is supporting the INMO's call for mandatory mask wearing on public transport.
Jillian McNulty believes it was a foolish mistake to make face coverings optional earlier this year and says she's fearful of the current level of covid in the community.
The Longford woman who has been on a kidney transplant list for the past couple of years, says masks protect vulnerable people since social distancing has eased.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show Jillian called for mask wearing to be mandatory in all public settings.
''There's still people standing on top of you, sneezing and coughing and the risk for me to pick up Covid and other patients like me is really, really high. And I've heard so much over the past couple of weeks saying its only like a cold or a flu. Yes, if you are very healthy person. But to somebody like me or somebody with CF or other patients, that could be detrimental to us.''
