The organisers of the Longford St. Patrick's Day parade say commercial floats only made up 25 percent of this years entries.
It comes following criticism of the lack of imagination floats taking part in this year's parade.
President of the Longford Chamber of Commerce Fiona Fenlon says a letter sent to the Joe Finnegan show is the first negative comment she's received about the event.
While a number of floats and volunteers were forced to pull out due to contracting Covid, Fiona believes the parade was enhanced this year by a special sensory area and says record crowds were in attendance.
The Longford native is urging all community groups to consider participating next year.
