Community groups in Longford have been granted over 34,000 euro in funding.
The grants provided under the 2021 Community Enhancement Programme range from 4,000 euro to 400 euro are are to support groups closed due to COVID-19 to re-open.
Among those that are successful are Colmcille Community Centre and the Battery Court Residents Association who are approved for €4000 each, Carrickedmond Defibrillator Group which will receive €350 and the Clondra Community Association who will get over €800.
Fianna Fail TD Joe Flaherty is welcoming these allocations.
