A major new investment at an independent Longford brewery will bring increased tourism to the town.
That's according to the founders of St Mel's Brewery as they opened a new front of house reception area this week.
The independent brewery was set up by Longford natives Liam Hanlon and Eoin Tynan in 2014 and now operates from the Longford Business and Technology Park on the Ballinalee Road.
The company are hoping the new front of house development along with tours of the brewery itself will make it an attractive stop off point for those travelling through the region.
A recent partnership deal signed between the brewery and two national distributors will also now see the brand available around the country.
Speaking to the Bottom Line, Co-founder Liam Hanlon hopes that the brewery will form part of a new chain of local tourist attractions:
