A Longford company will become the first company in the country to recycle election posters for use in the construction industry. Granard-based Enplast Extrusions Ltd will ground hundreds of local and European election posters into pellets which will then be used as heavy gauge sheeting. The sheeting can then be used in the construction sector in both Ireland and the United Kingdom.
It follows the company's successful application to Longford County Council for a Waste Facility permit, which was approved in October. Enplast Extrusions Ltd Managing Director Trevor Enright says the company is encouraging candidates to recycle their posters. The company has been involved in the production of election posters for 28 years and will now aim to reuse their product in the construction sector.
