Longford County Council says it acts quickly to remove rubbish and items dumped in rural areas.
Chef Gary O Hanlon had raised concern over illegal dumping in the greater Granard area, which he believed was not cleaned up since February last and was littered again this week.
Longford County Council has confirmed that the waste was noted and investigated when it was notified in February but it was not possible to have it removed until the lockdown ended in May.
The latest incidence was reported to the litter warden on Wednesday last and was investigated on Friday and will be cleaned up by tomorrow at the latest.
Information gathered from the inspection of the waste will result in fines being issued.
Environment Awareness Officer Gary Brady says the turnaround time from reporting to cleaning up is generally very short.
