A Longford County Councillor is making a last-minute appeal to the government to make sure a former Minister is given a junior role in the administration.
The new government will announce later tonight who it will appoint as Ministers of State - with a possibility 17 roles being revealed between the Greens, Fianna fail and Fine Gael.
Michael Ring previously served as the Minister for rural affairs, but it's believed he will not form any part of the new administration.
