A Longford Councillor is calling on the Minister for Housing to review income thresholds for social housing supports.
Independent Cllr Gerry Warnock says the maximum income thresholds outlined in the social housing assessment regulations were laid down in 2011, and they are completely out of sync with the 2020 housing market.
He's calling on local TDs to also take up the mantle to get Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O'Brien to act.
Speaking at a recent meeting of Longford County Council, Cllr Warnock says it's the second time in the last three years that he's submitted this same notice of motion and he believes it's a sign of the lack of urgency successive governments have treated this issue with.
