A Longford councillor says he's frustrated by further delays to the completion of works on the Major Wells Road in the town.
The installation of new cycle lanes on either side of the road, as well as the improvements of junctions along the main route were due to be finished by April of this year.
However, it emerged at a meeting of Longford Municipal District today that works will now not be completed until the end of 2022 at their earliest.
Councillor Seamus Butler believes it's absolutely shocking that it takes up to 12 months to complete a 350 metre section of road.
However, council officials say the overrun is as a result of complex underground works.
The Longford native is highlighting the inconvenience its causing to local residents.
