A Longford councillor is questioning the reason behind delays on a major project for one of the main approach roads into Longford town.
Members of Longford Municipal District were told at a recent meeting that the work on a major safety scheme on the N63 Majors Well Road on the outskirts of the county town are scheduled to begin in March of next year.
The works on the road between the junctions at Blind Man's Walk and Springlawn will include pavement reconstructions, reconstruction of footpaths, and new cycle paths
Seamus Butler says the project which is the responsibility of Transport Infrastructure Ireland has been on the table for the past few years but progress appears to be very slow.
